Residential Program at St. Mary’s School for the Deaf
A safe, supportive, and language-rich home away from home.
Our Residential Program provides an engaging, structured living experience for eligible students ages 6 through 21. Students stay on campus Monday through Thursday and return home after school on Fridays, as well as during holidays and school breaks.
What Families Can Expect
Our dorm is staffed by dedicated residential support staff, along with 24-hour nursing staff, to ensure a safe and always nurturing environment. We create a balance between structure, independence, and fun, helping each student grow both socially and academically.
Opportunities Beyond the School Day
Residential students have access to a wide range of after-school options, including:
- After-School Program activities
- School sports
- Drama program
- Tutoring
- Daily recreational activities designed to build confidence, friendships, and independence
Building Skills for Life
Through consistent routines and hands-on learning, students develop:
- ASL fluency and communication skills
- Social and interpersonal skills
- Independent living skills (such as organization, self-care, and responsibility)
Every evening is planned with purpose, mixing learning, recreation, and community-building in a comfortable, family-like setting.
