The boys track team travelled to Fredrick Maryland this weekend to compete is the annual ESDAA track tournament. The team has been working hard for this culminating moment all season. We were excited to see how much we’ve improved and how we stacked up to the other 14 Deaf schools attending the tournament. The competition was spread over 2 days. The boys worked hard and represented the school well by earning 2 bronze medals, 8 personal records(PR’s), and 21 points overall as a team. We ended up finishing 3rd place overall amongst D2 schools. It was a proud moment for our boys to see how that their efforts had paid off in the results. Please wish the team congrats on all of their individual and team accomplishments. On a side note, the coaches would like to honor Shannan Green who is an athletic senior and finished his SMSD sports career with this tournament.

The boys’ varsity track & field team competed against their ESDAA I-90 rival, the Wildcats from Rochester School for the Deaf this past Saturday morning at SMSD. Despite it being damp and chilly, our Bisons performed well and beat RSD 67-51. As a team we accumulated eight 1st place finishes and 7 personal records(PR’s). Please wish our team congrats on their hard work and a job well done. Our next meet will be this Wednesday as we travel to Tapestry High School to compete on their brand new 400m track and use this meet as our final tune-up before we head down to Maryland this coming weekend for the annual ESDAA Championships. Good afternoon,
The boys’ varsity track & field team competed in their first competition yesterday afternoon against Christian Central Academy. As a team we accumulated four 1st place finishes and 8 personal records(PR’s). Unfortunately, we were unable to pull off the overall victory and lost by a score of 54-45. Our next meet will be this Saturday morning as the Bisons invite the Lions from Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf as well the Wildcats from Rochester School for the Deaf in a 3-way tri meet. Please congratulate the boys for a great effort yesterday as well as good luck later this week.
