A native of Western New York, Ms. Bell graduated from Canisius College, majoring in Adolescence Education and Mathematics. She earned her Masters in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with a concentration in Educational Policy from Teachers College, Columbia University. Ms. Bell also received a Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Canisius University. She holds New York State professional certifications in the following areas: Mathematics 7-12; Deaf and Hard of Hearing; School Building Leader, and School District Leader. Ms. Bell was a Teacher of the Deaf at SMSD for seven years: one year as a 5th grade self-contained teacher, and six years as the Middle and High School Math Teacher. Ms. Bell served as the Associate Principal for the Secondary Department at St. Mary’s from July 2015 through June 2024. During the pandemic, Ms. Bell served as interim Superintendent at SMSD. Ms. Bell previously worked as a Video Relay Interpreter in American Sign Language, and taught at several area colleges. She was an adjunct instructor for the Deaf Education Graduate Program at Canisius College, and an adjunct instructor for the American Sign Language Programs at Erie Community College, Genesee Community College, Niagara University, and Villa Maria College.
