Michael Grimaldi
Board Treasurer
Michael and his wife, Anne, reside in Lake View, New York, where they raised three children. A former Board member of St. Mary's School for the Deaf (SMSD), Michael served on the Board from [start year] to 2015. He currently holds the position of Treasurer at the Foundation for Deaf Education.
Michael began his career as a CPA at PwC in 1984 after graduating from Ohio Northern University. In 1990, he joined Lumsden & McCormick, LLP (CPAs) and became a partner in 1999. His leadership has been invaluable to SMSD, particularly in financial matters, as he has served as Treasurer on the Board's Finance, Executive, and other committees.
Beyond his professional life, Michael has been an active member of the Buffalo Rotary Club since 1992, serving as both Club and Foundation President. He has also contributed to Wanakah Country Club as a Board member and Treasurer. A 1996 graduate of Leadership Buffalo, he has been a long-standing parishioner and former Finance Chair of St. John Paul II Church in Lake View.
As a Partner at Lumsden McCormick CPAs, Michael is the firm’s technical expert in auditing and accounting. He oversees quality control, inspects financial statements, and leads the assurance division, providing services to a diverse client base, including commercial businesses, healthcare institutions, and nonprofits.
Michael's commitment to the deaf community is evident through his roles as Treasurer for both SMSD and the FDE, positions he has held since 2009. His leadership experience, including his past presidency of the Rotary Club of Buffalo and the Buffalo Rotary Foundation, further complements his dedication to these institutions. SMSD holds a special place in Michael’s heart due to the inspiring achievements of its students and staff.
